"AFC Mentoring empowers foster and adopted youth to flourish through committed mentoring relationships."

We accomplish our mission through three programs:

AFCMentors:
One-on-one mentoring program matches youth in care with positive adults who provide friendship and consistency.

Team AFC:
Group mentoring gives youth in care a sense of community, consistency, and positive interaction with adults and youth.

AFCVolunteers:
Volunteers strive to help Adoption & Foster Care Mentoring support our community of youth in care in many areas!

In the course of three years and with the support of many dedicated individuals, Adoption and Foster Care Mentoring grew from a small pilot program of the Mass Mentoring Partnership in 2001 to a full-fledged independent non-profit in 2004.

AFC Mentoring is dedicated to building positive and consistent relationships among adults and youth with experiences in out of home care, such as kinship or residential care, foster care, or adoption. Our goal is to create long-lasting, consistent relationships which encourage youth to define and achieve their own personal success.

In pursuit of this goal we have developed programs that bring together adults and youth in care: AFCMentors and Team AFC. Through these programs our volunteers, mentors, and staff give confidence and friendship, and guide youth in care to reach their full potential!
