Partners & Supporters
AFC’s volunteer mentors often come from corporations in the Boston-metro area. If you would be interested in having an AFC representative come to your workplace to either make a presentation or distribute literature about AFC, please contact our Recruitment Coordinator, Emily Heaton, at mentor@afcmentoring.net. Tell us a bit about your organization and how you’d like to be involved with AFC Mentoring.
AFC Ongoing Supporters
Featured Supporter
This month’s featured supporter is: BNY Mellon. BNY Mellon has been a supporter of AFC Mentoring for three years. Recently BNY Mellon made a significant grant to AFC as part of our new Building Blocks for the Future initiative (BBF). Our AFC staff is now able to bring life-skills workshops to other youth serving organizations on topics such as financial literacy, writing a resumé, cooking nutritious meals, maintaining healthy relationships, and coping with stress and anger. These workshops introduce youth to William Bridges Transition Framework and use the framework to help youth address difficult changes and process transitions. In Bridges’ Transition Framework, “change” is understood as external and tied to a certain situation (e.g. starting a new job, moving to a new foster home or apartment, or graduating from high school), while “transition” is the internal emotional process of how one responds to and comes to terms with that change.
BNY Mellon has been involved with a multitude of mentoring programs for close to two decades and is extremely dedicated to the mission. BNY Mellon encourages employees to give back to their communities through team volunteering, team fundraising, individual volunteering and individual donations.
AFC is so lucky to have a great partner in BNY Mellon.
