Rodman Ride Kick-Off Party at Liberty Hotel
AFC Mentoring, through its partnership with the Mass Mentoring Partnership is again participating in the Rodamn Ride for Kids. To spread the word and recruit riders, we hosted a kick-off party at Alibi Bar + Lounge at the Liberty Hotel on August 3rd. Guests heard from long time mentor and board member, Vanessa Fazio-Pasquariello speak to how "mentoring is one of the most rewarding experiences of [her] life". It was a great event with a particularly rewarding raffle. Thanks to all who were able to attend.
Josh's Boston Marathon Fundraising Party
Mentor Josh DiPietro ran in the 2011 Boston Marathon as part of the Massachusetts Mentoring Partnership's (MMP) MarathonTeam. Josh raised over $5,000 to support MMP and AFC Mentoring. Josh has been a mentor for over 3 years. At the time of the marathon, Josh's Mentee lived on the cape, AFC staff were able to coordinate travel and make it possible for Josh's mentee to see Josh run in the Marathon.
To raise awareness, excitement, and to help reach his fundraising goal. Josh organized and hosted a pre-marathon fundraising party at the Muddy Charles Pub. The event featured food from Blue Ribbon BBQ and lots of fun raffle items.
Prudential Lighting "31 Nights of Light"
The Shops at Prudential Center and Prudential Tower highlighted AFC Mentoring by illuminating the Prudential Tower in AFC's blue and yellow.
On Tuesday December 7th, 2010 in the Belvidere Pavilion at the Prudential Center, AFC Mentoring "flipped the switch" to light the top of the Prudential Tower in AFC's colors. Our light was seen by millions across Boston, reminding an entire city of what the holidays are truly about ... caring, sharing, family, and friends.
This was a free and festive event celebrating the accomplishments of the AFC community with music, food, and beverages.
AFC Mentoring thanks The Shops at Prudential Center, Prudential Tower, and Sojourn Collegiate Ministries for helping make this event possible.
